Friday Morning Assembly

23 Apr 2020

Friday Morning Assembly

We can’t have any assemblies at the minute boys and girls but you can still say the school prayers on a Friday morning as part of your home schooling. If you can’t read all of the hard words someone can help you. We’ve sent the Weekly Bulletin home on a Thursday this week so you can start tomorrow. Why not say the St. Brigid’s Prayer every morning to start off your "Home-School” day. We’ve even included the words to the St. Brigid’s song so that you are able to sing it too if you like.

Our Prayer to St. Brigid

Brigid,

You were a woman of peace.

You brought harmony where there was darkness.

You brought hope to the downcast.

May the mantle of your peace cover those who are troubled and anxious,

And may peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.

Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.

Brigid, you were a voice for the wounded and the weary.

Strengthen what is weak within us.

Calm us into a quietness that heals and listens.

May we grow each day into greater wholeness in mind, body and spirit.

Amen

Morning Prayer

Father in Heaven you love me,

You’re with me night and day,

I want to love you always,

In all I do and say,

I’ll try to please you Father,

Bless me through this day.

Amen.

Guardian Angel

Angel of God, My guardian dear,

To whom God’s love commits me here,

Ever this day be at my side,

To light, to guard,

To rule and guide.

Amen.

Our Father

(Before you say this prayer ask God to look after all of the people who are helping sick people at this time)

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name,

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,

On Earth as it is in Heaven,

Give us this day, Our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us,

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

Amen

Hail Mary

(Before you say this prayer ask Mary to keep your family safe)

Hail Mary full of grace,

The Lord is with thee,

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy whom, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen

St. Brigid’s Song

St. Brigid lived long ago.

Her cloak helped God’s kingdom grow.

Now as we come come to school each day.

We thnk of Brigid and we pray.

Chorus:

Standing in a sea of blue

Friends forever, me and you.

We learn, we laugh, we sing, we pray.

St. Brigid is with us every day.

Each day we grow in Body and Mind.

With always near a friend to find.

Tall and small, from far and near.

St. Brigid’s spirit unites us here.

Chorus:
