Pond Life

Our school pond has come to life in recent weeks as Spring begins to show itself in all its beauty. P7 mounted a clean-up operation this week and discovered some creatures. Here we see a Newt and a water beetle collected in the children’s nets. Of course all creatures are released back into the water after a short time. The value of the pond as a learning tool is clear and the P2 children will be visiting soon to see for themselves the many frogs that are currently living there. They are studying the life cycle of these creatures at the minute.
